Self-Registration
What
A simple, secure student self-registration facility created by Wheelers.
How it works
Students register themselves directly on the School’s ePlatform, completing fields (defined by the School) that enable a Librarian to confirm them as a current student before activating their account e.g. Student Name, ID, Year. The file is hosted in the platform and the librarian is simply sent an email asking them to confirm (or not) this new user. Once they are approved, a student logs in and the ePlatform makes an inquiry to the secure username/password listing. If there’s a match then lending is enabled.
Benefits
There’s no remote inquiry to the School’s Library Management System / Database, so the School doesn’t need an additional SIP2 license for their LMS. Furthermore, because the inquiry is internal to the ePlatform, there are no firewall or security issues with the schools intranet. It’s simple to get started and free.
